Sylhet, Bangladesh

Sylhet is a major city in northeastern Bangladesh, and is the divisional capital of Sylhet Division. It is part of Sylhet District. It is the fifth largest city after Dhaka, Chittagong, Khulna, and Comilla. The area under the jurisdiction of Sylhet City Corporation is mainly known as Sylhet City. Sylhet was granted the status of a metropolitan city in March 2009.
